Park City sits on Wichita’s north edge with I-135 running through the middle of it. It began in 1953 as the Park City Improvement District and incorporated in 1980, and the 2020 census counted 8,333 people. An earlier Park City, founded northwest of Wichita in 1870, faded after the railroad passed it by.

Getting around
Downtown Wichita is about 15 to 20 minutes south on I-135 outside rush hour. The 61st Street North interchange is the city’s main stretch for shopping and dining. Heartland Credit Union Arena, known as Hartman Arena until 2024, seats up to 6,500 for concerts and events, and an Amazon fulfillment center opened at 69th Street North and Broadway in 2021.
